Copenhagen-based Corti has recently secured $60 million in a Series B funding round, co-led by Prosus Ventures and Atomico, with participation from existing investors such as Eurazeo, EIFO, and Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker. Founded in 2016 by Lars Maaløe and Andreas Cleve, Corti addresses the substantial administrative challenges faced by the global healthcare sector, which often result in overwhelming stress among practitioners.
A significant contributor to this stress is the imbalance between patient interaction time and administrative tasks. Physicians spend approximately 3 hours on patient interactions but dedicate a staggering 6 hours to administrative duties, primarily related to electronic health records. This imbalance not only contributes to physician burnout but also leads to an alarming 88% rate of initial misdiagnoses.
In response to this challenge, Corti offers AI assistants designed to empower healthcare professionals by minimizing their administrative workload. These AI 'co-pilots' provide real-time guidance during patient interactions, ensuring accurate documentation and medical coding. The platform's proprietary AI software understands commonalities in cases across languages and regions, with the ultimate goal of providing global access to fast, consistent, and high-quality healthcare advice.
With the newly secured funds, Corti plans to expand its presence globally, leveraging its current offices in Europe and the United States. The investment will also support the growth of Corti's team and client base.
